Ocular Migraine Headaches

What can cause temporary blindness?

I am only 16 and have had bouts of temporary blindness. This has been happening since about March this year. I've been in the eye doctors and they all seem to say that it is ocular migraine. I have read all about it and says it will end the first 2-3 weeks episode. I also had no major headache, I have only two or three since his departure. This occurs, on average 3 times now and every two weeks. may take a while for a whole day. It's scary and I need some answers. Any idea what could be?

Go to a doctor and be persistent. These headaches also may be a sign of a tumor.

What Causes Migraine Headaches

Migraine headaches are common ailments that affect many people all over the world everyday. They are different in nature from any other type of headache and are very distinguishable. While there is no particular reason why they can occur, there are several possible factors that doctors have been able to attribute to their cause. Still, it is often difficult to pinpoint one main cause, as the factors can change from one person to another.

It is believed that stress can be the cause of some migraine headaches. While eliminating stress may not make them go away entirely, it has been shown to lessen their frequency. Studies show that many migraine headaches are made worse by increasing levels of estrogen. This means that there is too much estrogen relative to the level of progesterone in the body at a given time. There can be several reasons for this, and stress is thought to be one of them. This is because stress often causes hormonal changes in the body that, even subtly, can trigger an increase in estrogen and prompt a migraine.

Another possible cause of migraine headaches is constant low-level anxiety or fear. If you are a person who is constantly anxious due to stress caused from your job, or discomfort at home, it could explain why you are experiencing migraine headaches. Here, it is best to try eliminating the factors causing your anxiety or fear as much as possible in order to relieve the stress causing the migraine.

There are a number of medical conditions that are also believed to cause migraine headaches. While doctors aren’t exactly clear on an exact cause, they have found that obstructions such as tumors in the brain can cause severe headaches. In situations such as these, it is necessary to treat the condition in order to stop the headaches from occurring. Certain eye conditions can also cause migraine-like headaches, such as narrow angle Glaucoma. Here, it would be necessary to lower the ocular pressure in order to relieve the headaches.

There are many Causes Of Migraine headaches, both known and unknown, and several ways in which they can be treated. The first step is to fry to find the cause, as treating that will often help the headaches to subside. There are also medications designed to treat migraine headaches that are often given to patients when the exact cause is not known. There are people who are prone t having migraines for no apparent reason. Often times, these people are incapacitated for the duration of the headache because of its severity and the other symptoms that often accompany it. If you think you are having migraine headaches, you should seek the immediate attention of a physician, who will work with you to help find a cause and a cure.
