Migraine Rebound Headache

Rebound headaches and pain medications?

I've been dealing with a toothache for two weeks now.I have been to the dentist. I have a wisdom tooth has developed a broken abscess and the infection has begun to affect the bones. I am currently taking antibiotics at the moment and I am scheduled for oral surgery the 5th of this month. For pain of my dentist prescribed a 800 mg ibuprofen tablets three times a day and two Vicodin 5/500- every 4-6 hours. I have been taking these for almost 2 weeks and I am concerned about the headaches analgesic rebound since I'm still need to take them. I get Migraine Headaches and have been through some headaches very unpleasant rebound in the past. So any idea how I can keep from getting a rebound headache pain medications or reduce the severity of it if I a get because I'm obviously going to need to be in pain for a while longer?

I would try to wean yourself off the drugs pain gradually and when you go to the dentist I suggest you talk to them about your concerns or call you and Md regular discussion with them - must be able to advise you on how to do this

Based on the breakthrough understanding that virtually all headaches are forms of migraine--because migraine is not a specific type of headache, but the built-in mechanism that causes headaches of all kinds, along with neck stiffness, sinus congestion, dizziness, and other problems--Dr. Buchholz's HEAL YOUR HEADACHE puts headache sufferers back in control of their lives with a simple, transforming program: Step 1: Avoid the Quick Fix. Too often painkillers only make matters worse because of the crippling complication known as rebound. Step 2: Reduce Your Triggers. The crux of the program: a migraine diet that eliminates the foods that push headache sufferers over the top. Step 3: Raise Your Threshold. When diet and other lifestyle changes aren't enough, preventive medication can help stay the course. That's it: in three steps turn your headache problems around.
