Any tips to overcome a migraine? The pain in my head is indescribable.?

I do not know what to do. I've never felt like this before. Vicodin has done absolutely nothing about it. I'm about 9 hours in. I do not know how else I can do before deciding to go to the emergency room. I've had brief migraines lived before once a week, but this is completely different. If I go to hospital they will do for me? What causes this?
