Migraine Headache Treatment
Ok, so I've been experiencing severe headaches on an almost daily basis for 3 weeks (there maybe 2-3 days that it did not occur). Always occur at night, usually around 90-10 hours and last about 2 hours. Also occasionally will receive around noon as well. Everyone is telling me they are migraines, but I'm not sure that will not last 4-24 hours (which migraine is supposed to last), and are so predictable as to what time of day they occur. The pain is always on the left side of my head, and sometimes radiates to my eye socket and nose. The pain is not affected by the counter medications. He tried ibuprofen, aspirin, Tylenol, Excedrin Migraine, Alkaseltzer relief pain, and nothing seems to help. I have also tried caffeine, which does not help to relieve pain faster. No insurance, and I have fear to go to the emergency room because the $, but may have no choice. What should I do? How much will it cost me a trip to ER?
Migraines can occur at the same time every day if triggered by a specific trigger, but that disappears after a couple of hours sounds weird to me. It could be a sinus problem. Try Afrin or something. If you have a fever, could be an infection. Go to the emergency room, preferably during an attack and make sure they know that it all began suddenly, and that the attacks have been everyday. Garden variety migraines do not start well. You'll probably order an MRI or a better diagnostic to check for life threatening conditions. Do not worry about money, worry about improving.
