Lose that excess weight. Prevent your knees from crashing under your weight, join a gym.
Pain relief is derived from the heat produced by the wintergreen lotion. If that does not suffice, after applying the lotion wrap the area with plastic to maintain the increase in temperature.
Skin irritation and burns could be avoided if you exercise enough care.
Strengthen the muscles supporting the joints and the joints with exercise. Pain could be alleviated through this process. Stronger joints can be had with stronger muscles.
Some of the most common exercises you can do are swimming, biking or rowing. These are useful for your health without straining your knees.
Absorb the impact and give your knee joint support by buying very good shoes. You can use ice compress over the sore knee for not more than 20 minutes for every hour.
You can use Bromelain, made from pineapple, a natural anti-inflammatory to speed up healing. Till you are recovered and the pain is subdued take three tablets a day. Stop the dosage if itching begins because Bromelain can cause dermatitis in some people.
Nutritional supplements like glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, niacinamide (vitamin B3), S-adenosyl-methionine (SAMe), and vitamin E may also be useful in treating knee pain due to osteoarthritis.
Herbs like Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa), Devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens), Ginger (Zingiber officinale), and Boswellia (Boswellia serrata) may also be very useful in addressing this problem.
An equal proportion of dried Ginger and stem of Heart leaved moonseed should be taken with Chebulic myrobalan twice a day. Twice a day, take with warm water, powdered Omum or seeds pf Bishop's weed.
Take with warm water a decoction of these herbs, Eranda paka , Visatinduka vati, Simhananda guggulu, Yogaraja guggulu, Maha Yogaraja guggulu and Hingulesvara rasa.
Apply over the affected joint a hot paste made from country mallow, Castor, Sandal, leaves of Rasna and the seeds of Black phaseolus.
You can also make a warm paste by using wheat, castor and turmeric mixed in goat's milk or ghee (a type of clarified butter) on the affected area.
