Complicated Migraine
Complicated Migraine
enecphalitis? When I was 12 I was in a coma for three weeks due to a disease called encephalitis. Is inflammation of the brain most likely to be caused by a severe disease carring mesquite and complicated by depression caused by the passing of my mother six months earliers. I was wondering if anyone has known or had themselves and if so have you had any complication or side effect perminent? Now I'm 27 but I still have horrible migraines and some sensitivity to light. When had I lost my memory, I had to re-learn word association, reading and even walking. I had a very long but good recovery, but sometimes I can not find short-term memory of the right or sometimes I wonder if I have false memories, things I think happened, but nobody can say for sure. Not I had a check up since I was 18 years, but now I just lost my father and not paying much attention. I can not remember what things in their case could be it in the future. Any help would be appreciated
My brother-in-law had encephalitis 10 years ago and was in the hospital for a month. He seems to be good in itself now, but has been plagued by headaches and migraines, which had never experienced before. When you get a migraine, the pain is so intense and one side of his body is weak and numb, like having a stroke and is sensitive to light. He said it was the after effects of the virus and there is much that can be do.

Secret Agents Conspiring To Cause Your Migraines
When you get a migraine how does it feel? It feels like you’re cornered on all sides and the walls are closing in. Every where you turn there’s another attack coming; every move you make will cause you pain. The throbbing skull-jarring pain, the sickening nausea, the dizziness…So all you can do is retreat to where you can be safe. You retreat to the darkness and try to keep perfectly still waiting for the time to come again when it’ll be safe to come out, a time when your attackers have stopped looking for you.
In a lot of ways being a migraineur is like constantly being on the run, constantly trying to evade attacks. It’s as if somebody has a hit out on your sense of well being. In a lot of ways that’s exactly what’s happening and in fact there are secret agents in your environment that act as if to say "here she is! Come and get her!" And these secret agents are in many of the foods that you eat every day. They’re called trigger foods.
Many foods have been linked to be migraine triggers. I’ve included a list below. I have to admit that I have very little will power when it comes to the foods I like and pretty much all of them are on the list below. But if you’ve found that your migraines tend to occur after you eat certain meals it’s worth it to try an elimination diet to narrow down what the offending agent is and rid it from your diet just as if you had a typical food allergy.
An elimination diet is when you isolate a certain type of food and remove it from your diet completely for a certain period of time. The key is to keep a journal showing the incidences of migraine attacks before and after you eliminate a food group so you can tell if it has in fact made a difference. Once you’ve concluded that one group is safe you then move on to the next and so on. Make sure you don’t eliminate multiple foods at the same time because that will confuse you’re results since you won’t be able to tell exactly which food was causing the problem.
Here’s a list of documented migraine trigger foods.
Known food migraine triggers (not a complete list but most major food triggers are listed)
-foods with nitrates (bacon, corned beef, ham, hot dogs, lunch meats, and sausage)
-the chemical MSG (monosodium glutamate)
-aged cheeses (Cheddar, Swiss, Stilton, Brie); chocolate; nuts; peanut butter; sour cream
-caffeinated beverages
-aspartame (artificial sweetener)
-alcohol
-chocolate
-tomatoes
-yeast
-peanuts and peanut butter
-red wines, beer, champagne, vermouth
-anchovies
-soya products as well as the bean itself
-dried meats
-avocados
-some beans (which includes peanut), as well as broad, lima, Italian, lentil, soy, peas
-bananas
-nuts
-sourdough breads
Now keep in mind that Migraine is still a very complicated and mysterious condition and what may be a trigger in one instance can seem to have no effect in others. So nothing is set in stone but at least this gives you a place to start and a way to recognize those secret agents hiding around you. Now you know who’s conspiring against you in the name of your migraine enemies. So get to work rooting those agents out and expose them to the light of day!
